Description

Hedgehog Avenue is the sixth station on the line, and the first one that is located overground. The station lies in the suburbs on a low-density housing area and has a very relaxed feel to it.

A single-lane road leads to the bus stop and parking area. The roadsides are covered in soil mix from Woodland Scenics that blends well with the grass mat.

Platform displays show timetable information to the passengers. Again, some vending machines are available for passengers to use on both platforms.

A single-lane roadway leads to the station entrance, which has a small parking lot and a bus stop. From there the passengers can walk through an opening to a partly-underground area under the platforms and from there up to either platform via one of the two staircases. The station can also be accessed from a walkway on the other side.

A speed limit of 50km/h.

The old-school Hedgehog Avenue bus stop. On the roof, a sign informs the passengers about what bus numbers stop at this bus stop. The blue sign is for express lines, and the yellow is for urban buses.

A Veolia / Transdev urban bus leaving the stop.

Hedgehog Avenue is the second station on the line to have side platforms. The platforms are partly covered with a support structure and glass ceilings but a little over half of the platform lenght is under open sky, just like in a few real-life stations in Helsinki.

A police car parked along with a Mercedes and a Mini Cooper. Finnish HSL ticket machines can be found right next to the main entrance door on the right.

Hedgehog Avenue is the first overground station and the second overground module I made and its name comes from the real-life surface station "Siilitie", which literally means "Hedgehog Road".
